Stiles was brought to our shelter by animal control as a stray. At first glance it was obvious that this guy has not had a great life. He had a permanent black mark around his neck and was missing hair where he must have been tethered to something for a long time. He had sores on his legs and feet and was covered in Georgia red clay stains from head to toe. We have spent the last week fattening him up but he is still a bit under wait and after a good bath we found his beautiful white coat. He still wears the mark around his neck and we are sure that will heal in time. Stiles has proven that he is resilient to whatever life has brought him thus far and has really touched all of our hearts. He loves people is dog friendly and even enjoyed meeting Baxter our house cat today. We are estimating that he is around 4 years old and deserves a 2nd chance at a better life. Sadly he is heartworm positive. The shelter has treated 6 heatworm positive dogs in the last year and has dried up our "Guardian Angel" fund however we do still have some of the medication left from treating the others. Sadly it's not enough to treat Stiles. We are reaching out to you in the hopes that we can raise $200 for the additional medication it will take to treat this sweet boy.
